WoodWick Candles are growing in popularity. More and more people are learning that these candles are a lovely home decoration or gift. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they come in a wide variety of scents. Plus you get that great sound of crackling wood every time you light it. We sell the complete line of Woodwick Candles, Diffusers, Refills, etc, and we wanted to give you some advice on how to get the best burn out of your new WoodWick Candles.

If your WoodWick Candles are burning properly, they should burn the wax straight down the side of the glass jar and they will not produce a lot of wasted wax. A good rule of thumb is to stop using your WoodWick Candles when the wax has burned down to about a half-inch from the bottom of the glass jar.

When you burn WoodWick Candles, be sure to burn them for about two to three hours at a time. This will ensure the melted wax pool reached the sides of the glass jars, which will increase your candles’ burn time. You should also be sure to keep the wicks trimmed to about one-eighth of an inch. Snap the excess off with your fingers after the candle has cooled down.

If you don’t burn your WoodWick Candles for the recommended time frame, you will probably notice that the wax is pooling in the center of the candle and not burning evenly throughout the entire glass jar. Once this has happened, it is difficult to reverse. The wax could “drown” the wick and cause the candles to not light or burn properly.

If you notice that your WoodWick Candles are smoking, don’t panic. There are usually two reasons a candle will smoke. The first reason is the candle is in a drafty area of your home. Simply move the candle from where it is and that should help. But if that doesn’t work, extinguish the candle and after it’s cooled, check the wick. Chances are, the wick is too long. Trim it down to one-eighth of an inch and then re-light it.

In general, 10-oz. WoodWick Candles will burn for up to 100 hours, and 22-oz. WoodWick Candles will burn for up to 180 hours if you use them properly.
